Director of Storage Solutions Product Marketing

What You will Be Doing

The Storage Software organization is a well-resourced and relatively new venture into the software business within the Toshiba’s SSD Business Unit. 

As our Director of Storage Solutions Product Marketing you will be responsible for the overall Product Management and Marketing of our new line of storage software products focused on delivering an NVMe over Fabric Storage Node Software (SNS) solution to the market.  You will build and own the product launch process and product development priorities for a complex, partnership-driven new business, and will have ongoing responsibility for business operations and inbound marketing functions. In collaboration with other team members, you will make important contributions to the strategic roadmap.

Your Key Responsibilities Would Include

  • Define/maintain market segmentation for Storage SW products focused toward driving increased value from our company's SSD’s in the datacenter
  • Define market messaging & drive awareness of our software and solutions directly to data center end users, as well as hardware platform partners via product promotion, conferences, print/social media, etc. 
  • Find and leverage opportunities for synergy with SSD marketing & promotion
  • Develop licensing and pricing strategies and drive implementation of licensing logistics and revenue realization/recognition processes
  • Drive creation of product documentation & support info (written & web) and sales collateral targeted at both end users and partners
  • Manage business planning activities, including revenue and investment analysis, and customer specific contracts
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Business Development team members to identify & prioritize market requirements
  • Coordinate the group’s marketing activity with the SSD Marketing teams in US & Japan, as well as engineering, business intelligence, finance, and legal organizations

Education & Experience Necessary for Success

  • BSCS / MSCS or related field
  • 8+ years in product/marketing management of datacenter infrastructure products, culminating in responsibility for a product line with a significant market footprint
  • Experience managing the growth of a product line from pre-revenue to $100M+ (HW) or $10M+ (SW) a strong plus
  • You must be very fluent at guiding complex; fast moving IT infrastructure or closely related products from the whiteboard to launch and beyond
  • Working knowledge of the major storage technologies and markets, including technical strengths and weaknesses, leading providers, the segments they serve, and their market dynamics,
  • This includes; Classical enterprise vs. cloud, Hard disk vs. SSD, File, object, & block, Hyperconverged vs. disaggregated, and Major open source initiatives
  • You should be able to read & interpret the three basic financial statements, and be able to create a simple financial model for a new product line.
  • The knack for anticipating your listener’s point of view, and adjusting content and style accordingly
  • You should be comfortable and effective presenting to both business-oriented and technical listeners
