Director of Sales

Job Summary

The successful candidate will drive Customer Development and Sales activities for the converged compute and storage system called Flash Matrix and its associated future roadmap. The successful candidate will assist in identifying and analyzing new revenue opportunities within defined target markets and set of end customers. This person will develop, maintain, and grow key customer relationships with intent to grow the Flash Matrix’s business. The ideal candidate will possess account management skills and have the technical depth that allows them to understand the needs of these accounts and then drive alignment with our goals. This person will have relationships with product, engineering, and business teams at these accounts and will be able to communicate our value proposition to a broad set of decision makers and influencers. The candidate will be able to create the customer growth strategy and have the ability to think strategically to drive growth and revenue. The ideal candidate will also be familiar with the complex design cycles for industrial products and edge based compute intensive applications. This position is based in San Jose, CA, but can work remotely.



  • Align customers in the target market segments of Manufacturing, Telecom, Transportation, and Energy
  • Develop and manage relationships with potential channel partners and customers
  • Assist in developing customer and market strategies to position and launch Flash Matrix
  • Assist product management in gathering use cases, workflow requirements, and competitive landscape analysis
  • Possess a deep insight into target customers roadmap needs and desires, for existing and future, from a technology and product standpoint
  • Assist in understanding current competitive landscape within customer base, and help identify current product limitations and gaps
  • Must be a strategic and out-of-the box thinker with excellent interpersonal skills, and relationship building abilities
  • Must be able to travel, including international as needed



  • Must have system sales experience, preferably in the target market segments of Manufacturing, Telecom, Transportation, and Energy
  • 10+ years of sales and sales management, experience
  • Track record of working in a complex sales cycle and account management
  • Will be capable of understanding the complexities of design cycles for data center environments with a focus on edge based applications
  • Prior experience successfully working with engineering teams, business teams, operation teams, and senior executives
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as leadership skills
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
  • Familiarity with IOT based architecture from sensor input devices to processing cores and applications
  • Experience managing multi-national International customers
  • Experience in managing System Integrators, Value Added Reseller and Distributors
  • Electrical/Computer Engineering and/or other technical degree is desired



  • Bachelor/Master in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related area
