Customer Quality Engineer

Job Overview:

Toshiba Memory America, Inc. is currently looking for a Customer Quality Engineer to support several of our major Global Accounts (GA) in the Texas region. This engineer will provide customer quality support for SSD products.  This includes the quality management of product quality during the GA latter stages of qualification, all phases of integration, in-process testing, as well as within the field install base.  Our ideal candidate should have extensive technical expertise in multi-cultural, inter¬≠disciplinary environments where teamwork, communication and customer interaction skills are mandatory to successfully complete all quality activities of Toshiba Storage Products.


  • Collaboration with the Japan and Philippines quality organizations regarding specific GA quality data
  • Monitoring and reporting of factory quality data (Yields / RDT / ORT / OBA)
  • Coordination of periodic customer visits and factory audits
  • Execution of formal monthly / quarterly / annual Quality Reviews
  • Communication of process related changes and continuous improvement implementations
  • Management of failure analysis drives throughout the complete reporting cycle
  • Collection, analysis and reporting of worldwide integration and in-process test data
  • Management of all quality related escalations and inquiries
  • Monitoring and reporting of field ARR / AFR
  • Management of any process escapes, including risk assessments and containment
  • Uses analytical tools to determine potential exposure
  • Provides technical and quality consultation to counterparts within Toshiba
  • Functions as the interface person and focal point for the GA on all quality related issues
  • Disseminates GA status internally throughout the Toshiba team
  • Creation and refinement of tools, methods, and procedures to enhance functional efficiency


  • Broad experience in the computer technology sector
  • Specific experience in the storage technology sector
  • Knowledge of quality principles, metrics and assessment methods
  • Familiarity with industry standard quality testing protocols
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Capability to apply and manipulate statistical tools


  • BS degree in a computer related discipline


  • Capability to develop new tools and methods for overall team benefit
  • Moderate travel flexibility
