Job Summary:

As a key member of the SSD BU team, the Business and Sales Operations manager manages the demand planning function and works with the supply chain team to balance global supply, coordinate warehouse inventory targets, and mitigate supply gaps, for assigned products. The main responsibilities include interfacing with customers, internal TMAI and WW teams as well as communicating operational issues, forecasting and supply requirements.  This role will report to the Director of SSD Planning and Business Operations.


  • Drive the demand planning process for assigned segments and strategic customers
  • Communicate on a global level with Toshiba global SCM & sales teams, as well as customers.
  • Drive the supply buffer strategy factoring various demand and supply variabilities
  • Cross functional effort to manage the excess inventory with Sales, Marketing and the Headquarter on a timely manner
  • Communicate weekly supply commit to customers with in-depth explanations and set the expectation correctly; Reiterate manufacturing lead times and flexibility to minimize the forecast changes within lead times.
  • Drive reasonable consensus forecast for rolling 6 months on a timely manner to drive reasonable die stack mix at the Fab despite of lack of customer forecast
  • Direct overseas inventory and logistics teams to support US-based strategic accounts
  • Consolidate demand forecasts and provide analysis as needed.  Work with headquarter supply chain teams to secure supply
  • Balance global supply and inventory levels for assigned customers in accordance with TMAI metrics and customer demand
  • Execute to division’s financial plan and metrics
  • Manage weekly sales update reporting for assigned segments and customers; communicate variances and trends as required, and provide revenue projections based on the confirmed prices; Highlight risks and opportunities to mitigate any revenue gaps to the financial targets
  • Engage in presentations to and meetings with company executives
  • Support sales and marketing teams with direct communications to customers in regards to assigned job functions, and host related meetings and drive discussions
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned


  • A minimum of 7+ years of directly applicable experience in demand planning/Operation/customer collaboration/business management in a technology field
  • Advanced understanding of demand and supply planning processes, key manufacturing lead times and flexibilities for SSDs to maximize the supply optimization in a constrained environment
  • Advanced skills to build a forecast, replenishment and pricing models
  • Experience in SSD business planning/operation is preferred
  • Must have an in depth understanding of global VMI and logistics process
  • Strong working proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Oracle or similar ERP familiarity is a plus
  • Must be a self-starter with strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, while maintaining strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner


  • BS/BA Marketing, Business Administration, or Finance or BE Industrial Engineering  and/or an equivalent combination of education and related business experience
