Sr. Product Manager (SSD) - 1711

What You Will Be Doing

Own and drive product management, strategic planning, tactical execution, and overall marketing responsibilities for Toshiba’s portfolio of Datacenter SSDs. Work closely with Technical Marketing and Product Development teams to define, develop, and bring to market next-generation Datacenter SSD products. Drive business for storage core products, identify new applications and markets, and provide customer feedback to shape future products and roadmaps. Understand customer applications, challenges & how to solve them.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Own and lead the Datacenter SSD Product Marketing and Management efforts on the front-end while working closely with Technical Marketing and Product Development teams on the back-end
  • Drive business and product level decisions within the PDT (Product Development Team) and be responsible for developing cross-functional relationships across all cross-functional areas
  • Steward next-gen SSD programs throughout the PLC process from concept, through planning, execution and EOL. Own market research, competitive analysis, and interaction with customers
  • Responsible for core product strategy and product swim lane leadership including market research, marketing modeling, pricing, and understanding the competitive landscape
  • Responsible for strategic direction, customer relations, strategic alliances with key partners, and working with NAND technologists/architects to drive innovation within the datacenter SSD ecosystem
  • Create detailed product value propositions, product positioning, messaging and developing successful customer, sales and marketing collateral materials for your product segment
  • Oversee pre-sales technical support to customers, including assisting technical marketing and customer support teams with RFQs, RFIs, and spec gap analyses
  • Provide PR and Marcom support to outbound marketing team including specifications, in-depth technology materials and presentations.
  • Lead technical enabling activities with customers, including the creation and presentation of promotional material which showcase the benefits and technology of Toshiba NVMe SSDs
  • Oversee the preparation of other promotional materials including case studies, white papers and other outbound marketing materials and represent Toshiba at industry trade shows and technical conferences
  • Regular travel required: ~20% (domestic and international)

Education & Experience Necessary for Success

  • Must be a forward-thinking leader with the ability to think strategically about the product category as well as take a hands-on approach in terms of execution.
  • Must possess proven abilities in Marketing, Product Management, and/or Business Development in the Datacenter and/or Enterprise Storage Solutions space.
  • Must be able to assimilate broad range of data, draw meaningful conclusions and define a coherent strategic direction - this requires excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • The successful candidate must be a hands-on self-starter who can assume broad responsibility in a dynamic business setting
  • Must be competent decision-maker who can inspire and motivate others. High standard of excellence, results, orientation, flexibility and openness to change.
  • Strategic mindset with heavy involvement in execution and delivery of results and an ability to develop relationships in all cross-functional areas and with senior management.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal as well as presentation skills; strong customer skills with the ability to build relationship at top levels.
  • Ability to manage groups, drive projects, and collaborate cross-functionally; Strong research/analytical background, ability to crunch numbers in driving decisions.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment with cross-functional global teams in multiple time zones
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or comparable scientific field required; MBA desirable
  • 7+ years in Engineering, Product Management and/or Technical Marketing, preferably in the storage, computing, or semiconductor industry
  • Expertise in SSD Technologies, especially PCIe, NVMe, SATA, and NAND Flash memories
  • Expertise in hyperscale, datacenter, and/or storage systems hardware and software is a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or comparable scientific field required; MBA desirable
